just finished about two days of spotting in Central Slovakia. Caught roughly about 110 aircrafts and 580 pictures !
here are some of the first special captures.

nothing beats the beauty of waking up early when its just me and the airplanes and everyone else is still sleeping.

Moving on to this totally unexpected capture when the sun was about to set, not the best quality but at least the decals are visible

And to top it off this shot is from about 2 hours ago, i decided to add it because it is my first somewhat good capture of Atlas Air B747

Captured at 20:11, ISO200 1/80 , the lights on the wings are visible, tho i dont know if thats still the sunset or the aircraft lights, still an interesting sight.

Hi everyone !
i got back from a Trip to Amsterdam this week, i was spotting at Amsterdam Schiphol and also kept an eye out for new contrails and new routes

My trip started very surreally, on my way to the airport (Vienna Schwechat) at about 5 A.M i saw 3 Airbus A380s approaching the airports Vicinity. All of them were from three different operators -
Singapore Airlines, which is very rare for me since i have almost zero documentation of this airline contrail wise, and i have never even seen their A380
British Airways, i only caught their A380 once just a few weeks prior to this moment

and Qatar Airways, i caught their A380 only once last years summer, and i ran for about 15 minutes just to get home and take that shot.

Never would i thought i would catch all of these in about 5 MINUTES.

First was Singapore Airlines:

Next followed British Airways:

Note that all of them were going to Heathrow

i Flew the brand new Austrian A320-271neo

During the flight i also caught my first Air to Air action

I was hoping for some closer meetings, but ill leave that to the longer flights ill take during the summer.

I spent this weekend at a wedding that took place Very Close to Poland. i was only about 1.5 Km from the Border.
Of course i had to take my camera with me

The evening was pretty dry as this is just between the two spots aircraft transition from SK to PL so i only caught this US Air force Stratotanker on the brink of sunset, i was hoping it will pass with some fighter jets but a friend has informed me that this flight does not pass with them.

Hi,

Recently some changes were made to the upper airspace over my home. On 23rd March 2023, Free Route Airspace (FRA) was implemented over the South West of England and Wales. Movement here remains more or less the same, but it is now more unpredictable in that it is not defined which route aircraft will take across the sky. Something to consider for the future of this hobby.

@James, do you like this new change or was it better before ? I have been spotting in FRA airspace from the very start, since Slovakia implemented it around 2018. So my only experience is from other countries where I always spotted for a limited amount of time.

I am planning a spotting trip to the UK, since that's what I got for my 18th birthday. I still can't decide if I want to focus on photographing contrails or going to Heathrow. I wanted to mix the both but from the time I spent in Amsterdam Schiphol I learned that it is not a good thing, there is just too much going on.

@James maybe you could help me, are there any parts of the UK that are very busy with contrail traffic ? What about the conditions, is end of August a good time or is there too much sun like here in Slovakia ?

Also, beautiful captures James, I am always excited for your posts.
